Lovely Gems

Hey, everyone!

I know this is pretty delayed (what else is new?) but this is the mani I wore for Valentine's Day this year. And guess what? It's PINK. Who am I and where did Millie go?! Anyway, keep reading to find out whether I've lost my mind!

Oddly enough, I really loved this mani. Ever since I received Born Pretty Store stamping plate BP-L054 to review, there was one image that made me go "Yes, that looks like a gemstone, and I wanna use it for that!" So I did. I couldn't decide on a color scheme for the longest time, though, and when Valentine's Day rolled around I figured I might as well go big or go home. So I embraced the pink. And here we are!

I knew I wanted to make this super sparkly! So on my index, middle, and pinky fingers, I applied a coat of Color Club Harp On It, followed by my Born Pretty Store no-wipe gel topcoat and laser powder. Instead of just sealing it with a topcoat, I used one of my sheer polishes to give it a gorgeous burst of color, which still showed off the holo underneath. The polish was L.A. Colors Transformer, a polish I have had for yeeears and never used, yet have held onto anyway. And now I'm glad I have! It's the perfect rich deep pink color for me!

For my thumb and ring finger, I started off with two coats of Virago Varnish Allure. Then, I stamped this faceted gem-like image from BP-L054 using OPI Casino Royale. Next, I used various combinations of OPI Pen & Pink, L.A. Colors Transformer, and clear polish to fill in the different sections in varying shades, so that you could still basically see the sparkle underneath the pink. To finish off, I sealed everything with Seche Vite. And here's some video to show that intense holo goodness!

Wearing pink made me feel so chic! I guess I should do it a little more often? Time will tell, I suppose! I hope you all had a good Valentine's Day, mine was spent wondering if I should evacuate with the rest of my town or not! It turned out okay, nonetheless! Thanks for stopping by!
