Les Nail Smiths, December 2014: Kaleidoscope/Leadlighting Nails!

Hey, everyone!

I know, that's quite a title! And yes, I AM posting three days in a row, but oh well. This month Michelle of Le Laquer Hookup and I decided on doing leadlighting style nails, but then we both ended up using MoYou London Kaleidoscope collection stamping plates, so I guess this month's theme is... BOTH! Keep reading to learn more!

First off, I have to apologize for my weird skin tone in these pics. I blame the super light colors of polish, but at least the polish colors are accurate! Also, you might be wondering why this month's LNS post is so late. Well, Miss Michelle was being a good student and studying and such and prepping for finals all month, and I've been so swamped with life in general that I was happy to push back our posting date!

I really wanted to use my new MoYou London Kaleidoscope plates #3 and #10, so I picked some snowflake-ish designs to bring a winter element to my nails, then I used some clear polish to make my own tints in shades of blue and purple. I think I need to work on my leadlighting technique, because some of my tints turned out a bit too cloudy and kinda obscured the stamping. Perhaps the starting colors I used were too white-based? I don't know, let me know in the comments! I also used China Glaze Fairy Dust under the tints, but it also got obscured by the tints. Overall, this was a really pretty mani, and now I think I know how to make it much better next time!
