Hey, everyone!
I don't know about you, but whenever chilly weather is afoot, I like to bundle up in blankets, sweaters, and whatever else is available to keep me warm. And lately, it's been super cold, although a few days of sunshine have been a nice change. Anyway, keep reading to check out my cozy mani!

Life Update & A Special Legacy
Hey, everyone!
I'm sorry I've been MIA this week. You may have seen stuff about Oroville Dam and its damaged spillway(s) in the news recently. Well, my town is downriver from the dam, and there has basically been an evacuation order (downgraded to an advisory) in effect for the entire past week, just in case the (already full) river breeches the levees and causes a massive flood. I haven't been able to go to work because all the schools are closed, and it's been a really stressful week. The storm system this weekend is only putting more pressure on the issue, but the updates this morning seem to be good ones. So I'm trying to catch up on some posts until they possibly tell us we need to get out!
Update out of the way, this mani and this post are very special to me. My academic advisor from college recently and suddenly passed away. We were very close, since I was one of only two graduating chem majors in my graduating year, and he was simply put the most lovely and genuine gentleman I have ever met. I will tell you more about him in this post, but this mani is what I wore to his "celebration of life" service. Please keep reading for more!

Hey, everyone!
Soooo my last post was supposed to go live on the 7th, but for some reason Blogger decided to not bother... so NOW it's live (three freaking days later), and I'm gonna go ahead and post this even though it seems really close together. Oh well! Anyways, enjoy this funky 3D mani. Keep reading for all the info!

Shiny Chromium
Hey, everyone!
This manicure is a few months old, actually... I wore it way back when I was still testing the Mirror Powder I was sent to review for Born Pretty Store (my full review is HERE!). My application technique has actually gotten a lot better since this first attempt at using it, but I thought I'd share anyway! Keep reading for all the deets!

Police Line, Do Not Cross!
Hey, everyone!
I bet you're wondering why I haven't posted any holiday nails yet. Well, I'll be honest with you (get ready for a possibly unpopular opinion - I'm pretty sick of holiday nail art and have been for at least two weeks now. Yes, all the holiday and winter nails I've seen are incredibly pretty, but I feel like I've only seen a small handful of non-holiday nail art since Thanksgiving! I'm so burned out on it already, I'm sorry to say. So I'll only be posting one Christmas mani on Christmas Eve and one New Year's mani on New Year's Eve. Just a heads up. Anyway, rant OVER, on to my nail art for today! Keep reading to find out how I got this look.

Les Nail Smiths, September 2015: Double Processed Stamping
Hey, everyone!
For September's Les Nail Smiths theme, I chose double processed stamping. It's a fairly new and kinda tricky stamping technique but the results are well worth the effort! I won't really go too much into the details of how it's done, but if you're curious then please check out this post by Lacquer Lockdown! It's described really well there. Anyway, keep reading below to find out more about my double processed stamping look!

Are You Coming, Spring?
Hey, everyone!
I know Mr. Groundhog said there'd be six more weeks of winter, but I think he might have been wrong about the weather in my neck of the woods! It's been getting warmer and warmer here, and I took the inspiration for this mani from the gorgeous mustard growing everywhere in my area. Keep reading to find out more!

Science Stamping and FRECKLES!
Hey, everyone!
Sorry I've been a little erratic with my posting lately! I'm kinda in a weird transition period between freshly-graduated-from-college and trying-to-find-a-job-and-be-independent... but I'm trying to make a point of posting AT LEAST once a week. So there's that.
Today's post is the result of what happens when A) I get a new polish, B) I finally figure out how to properly prep and use my squishy stamper head, and C) the weather is gloomy and I need a pop of color in my life. Keep reading to learn more about this look!
