The Nail Smith Turns TWO on Blogger!

Hey everyone!

I know I've been totally MIA lately, but being a long-term sub and doing my own lesson plans and grading takes up a LOT of time! School is out after next week, so I will definitely be back to regularly scheduled posts at that point in time. But in the meantime, TODAY IS MY 2ND BLOGGIVERSARY!!! Woohoo! So I'm taking the time to write this quick post. Keep reading to check out the nail art, too!

It's hard to believe that it's been two whole years since I decided to make a full-on blog for my nail stuff! I'd been on Tumblr for a while before two years ago, but I love how I can write such customize-able posts using the Blogger platform. It's encouraged me to be more creative and professional, too!

Anyway, I wore this nail art a couple weeks ago but since I haven't had a chance to post them yet, and they are pretty awesome if I say so myself, I figured I'd share them on this special occasion today. I started with two coats of China Glaze For Audrey on my index and pinky fingers, and two coats of the lovely Essie Perennial Chic on my thumb, middle, and ring fingers. I stamped a tribal design onto my thumb and ring finger using For Audrey and MoYou London Explorer #27. On my middle finger, I applied some crushed turquoise gravel that Athena of Athena Rocks sent to me with my order a couple months ago! It's so so pretty! I used my IBD clear builder gel to secure it and encase it, which worked really well! The gravel is pretty easy to work with, very similar to using other loose glitter or flocking powder. Once it was encased it felt a lot like a more extreme version of a texture polish, so it was quite comfortable.

Materials Used
China Glaze For Audrey
Essie Perennial Chic
IBD clear builder gel
Athena Rocks turquoise gravel (sent for review)

For those of you who have been following me since the very beginning, even before 2 years ago, thanks for sticking around! And for those who are just getting to know me, welcome! And I hope you enjoy my creations! Here's to many more years of The Nail Smith! Thanks for stopping by!
