Drippy Faux Floam

Hey, everyone!

Today I have a design that I've been wanting to try for a while but just now got around to it. Keep reading to learn more about this drippy mess!

It feels like I've been in a teal/blue/green mood lately, for some reason. Oh well! Good thing I have a lot of polishes in that category! I've done drip-style nails before, but since I picked up a bottle of Salon Perfect Kaboom! a year or so ago I've been wanting to incorporate it somehow. Thus, these nails were born. For those of you that are familiar with Floam by Ninja Polish (now discontinued), you'll know that it's pretty much impossible to get a bottle of it. However, many people (including me) claim that Kaboom! is a near-perfect dupe! Of course, finding a bottle of it is also pretty tricky. I picked mine up at Wal-Mart before I even knew it was a dupe - I just thought it looked interesting!

I shaped the drips using my largest dotting tool, then outlined the drips in Sinful Colors Rise and Shine to give some definition. I layered a couple coats of Kaboom! over Sinful Colors Innocent (a lovely lime creme), which worked really well. UNTIL I took this mani off and saw that I had horrid yellow-green staining on the nails with the combo of the two polishes... sigh. At least it looked cool!
